The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) is a government autonomous entity which handles over 90% of the traffic in the Philippines. It was previously a part of the Civil Aviation Administration of the State and was separate therefrom by law. The CAA, now ATO, handles the Air Navigation and Airworthiness Services, as well as the operation of domestic airports other than the Manila Domestic Airport which is operated by MIAA. There are 3 other airport authorities in the country, Mactan Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA), Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) and Diosdado Macapagal International Airport Authority (DMIAA).

Note: MIAA ia a government corporation attached to the Department of Transportation and Communications. It is governed by a Board of Directors chaired by the Secretary of DOTC. The Air Transportation Office does not exercise direct supervision over MIAA with respect to airport management.
